Ogre-Slayin' Knife, aye; about as good as a butter spreader, but who wouldn't be itchin' to be sayin' "I be attackin The Darrrrrkness - with me knife that be +3 against Ogres"?
think it would be more HARDCORE RAWR style to attack mallyx with an ogre slaying knife that would be pretty immense - especially calling it "i am wielding an orge slaying knife" watch the QQ from your teammates :P

I might have to go back to ToPK to get me one of those knives :P

It's gotten so bad, just yesterday I merched 2 Magekillers and 2 Muraki's Blades (for 35g each) just to get them out of my storage. And I still have 2 of each left (1 to keep, and another to sell.)

Most of those level 5's are just guys like us running their umpteenth character through.

(But that is a good idea.)

Done that too, you get some incredulous responses especially when you give them to real newbies "i can have this? for free? you serious??"

Its nice to do something nice

^Absolutely - although I prefer doing it somewhere where the low-levels are more likely to be real newbies, like Yak's Bend for example.

As everyone pointed out,too easy.
So greens are primarily used for heroes or players who have started recently.

Actually though, that is one of the problems with GW (and other games that have been around for years). There are too many veteran players around giving too much stuff away.
Remember back when you were a newbie and how exciting it was to get a better weapon as a drop or out of a chest? Remember the struggle to earn enough gold and salvage enough materials to get better armor and how you felt like you accomplished something?
All that excitement, feelings of accomplishment, and fun is lost when someone just gives you everything you need.

For example, a few months back I played WoW for a while. When I started, some clan-mates gave me about 15 gold (which is like 15p in GW) and crafted me a set of large bags. Then they ran me through some instances so I could fill the bags.
It was all very nice and generous of them, but it kinda took away a lot of the fun.

That is why I'm looking for something totally new to play, like GW2 or Star Trek Online, or w/e.

hmm I must be unlucky though since the greens I was after never got below 10k. Examples: Kaolin Accursed Staff or Incetols Focus. Last one I got offers of 40k when I finally found it even though I had a WTB and not WTS thread.

Not all greens can be reproduced. Those greens will be higher in price. Incetols focus being again an example.

Also the fact, people want rare skinned items for their ego, they would rather have a req9 caster modded e-blade than razajans ferver, for the reason the eblade is rarer.

Would you rather have a Vauxhall or a Lamborghini? - Is the same thing here.

For all reasons mentioned above it is therefore best to equip your heros with the greens you get instead of trying to sell them

Well i guess the most expensive green is the Bow of the Hierophant - 50e green; so technically they aren't ALL worthless

Really, really bad mods.

Almost all of the martial weapons are 20/20, 15^50, +30hp. Awful.

While there's more variety in caster weapons, most of them fall just as far away from ideal mods as the martial weapons.

Shields do better, mainly do to the extremely limited mod pool.
